Once the decision to straighten your teeth with aligners has been made, the patient’s teeth are scanned, and X-rays of the mouth and face are taken. Based on this data, a precise straightening plan – a visualisation – is drawn up in collaboration with the orthodontist and presented to the patient. Even before treatment begins, the patient knows exactly what result to expect and how long it will take to achieve it.
Once the patient’s treatment plan has been approved, the patient’s test data is sent to Ordoline’s tomb manufacturing branch, where individual tombs are made. At the next visit, the first set of aligners is given to the patient, together with detailed instructions for their use. Additional tools (clasps, elastic bands, etc.) may also be used for treatment.
The grave must be changed by the patient every 14 days. Every 2-4 months, a follow-up visit is needed to collect data and, after transferring it to the orthodontist supervising the treatment, to assess whether everything is going as planned. Adjustments to the treatment plan can be made if necessary.
The duration of treatment with clear dental straightening aligners depends on the clinical situation and the desired result. It usually lasts about 10-24 months.
Doctors warn that there may be a slight stretching sensation when you start treatment with the aligners or replace them with new ones, but this will disappear within a few days. Sometimes the aligners may affect the pronunciation of certain sounds, but within a few days you get used to them and they no longer cause any discomfort.
It is important to know that the cap must be worn at least 22 hours a day to achieve the desired result within the planned time. They should only be removed when eating, drinking, smoking and brushing your teeth. It is recommended that the aligners are stored in special boxes to protect them. A soft toothbrush and toothpaste without abrasive particles are recommended for cleaning the aligners.
